Aftercare.

  • Always wash hands before touching your tattoo.

  • Leave bandage on for 24 hours (bandage is waterproof and breathable).

To remove bandage:

  • Wash hands

  • Remove bandage in the shower.  Let warm water run over the bandage for a few minutes before starting to peel it off.  Peel it off slowly and gently, keeping it under warm running water.

  • Once the bandage is off, clean your tattoo with mild, unscented soap.

  • Pat your tattoo dry with clean paper towel (don’t use your regular bath towel while healing).

  • Keep pets away from your healing tattoo.  Change your bedsheets before your first night without the bandage.

  • Wash tattoo daily with unscented soap.  Pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. Wash it an additional time immediately after exercising, etc.

  • Keep tattooed area clean and dry.

  • Once your tattoo begins to flake and becomes dry, you can moisturize with a very thin layer of unscented lotion.  Do not over-moisturize.  It's normal for your tattoo to flake and peel while it's healing.

  • Avoid touching your tattoo. No scratching. No picking.  Let any flaky, healing skin come off naturally in its own time.

  •  Wear loose, non-restrictive, breathable clothing while the tattoo is healing.

  • No baths, hot tubs, saunas or swimming for 2 weeks.

  • Keep your tattoo out of the sun for 2 weeks.  When the tattoo is fully healed, use a high-quality sunscreen.

  • Your tattoo is a wound and requires your care and attention. There will be some discomfort while it heals but if redness, swelling, or irritation persists, feel free to contact me for advice.  If your tattoo becomes infected (emits white or yellow fluid) contact your physician.
